From a single location in Monterey, CA in 1981, Rori and Paul Habas along with Alan and Carole Kushnir started and grew a Supercuts Franchise that at it’s very core was, and still is, a family run, and locally managed business.
The early days were not easy when the newly formed HK Enterprises, Inc. decided to open stores in New England, where no one had heard of Supercuts. This new format of hair salon would require many dedicated years of hands-on labor by the partners in order for it to take off. Over the next 20 years they would slowly add 50 locations, 5 Area Supervisors and 3 more partners: David Habas, Neal Habas and Todd Kushnir.
In 2004 there were approximately 55 stores, and since then, HK has more than doubled its size to operate over 100 Supercuts in California, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. We as a team are proud to count over 900 members including 11 Area Supervisors in our extended HK Family.
Everyone from the Stylists, Managers, Area Supervisors, HR and Office Staff continue to run each Supercuts the same way that Rori, Carole, Paul and Alan did in Monterey and New England. With dedication to team-work and commitment to the business, HK Salon Group is a super dream growing with a super family.
